What's New in this Release

The DataCore Plug-in for VMware vSphere 3.9 includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • By default, the registered vCenter Plugin name is displayed as "DataCore SANsymphony". From this release, users can have a custom plugin name by executing "Set-VcpFriendlyName.ps1" script in PowerShell located in the C:\Program Files\DataCore\Rest folder.

When executed, the user will be prompted to provide a new plugin name which will be displayed in the vCenter upon registration. This will assist the user in distinguishing between the various server groups in the vCenter plugin registered under different names. See Registering SANsymphony Server Groups to DataCore Plug-in for more details.

If the user has already registered the plugin, they may need to unregister the plugin, execute the automation script, and then re-register the plugin in order to observe the changes in the plugin name.

  • A new column "Capacity Optimization" has been added to the Disk Pools list page to enhance user expereince. It compromises four conditions:

    • Disabled

    • Disabling

    • Enabling

    • Enabled

Filtering and sorting options are also available in this column.
