What's New in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP21

  • The following new features are added to the DataCore Management Console (DMC) in 10.0 PSP21:
    • NVMe over Fabrics (NVMeOF) Protocol Support: This feature enables you to present virtual disks as NVMe namespaces to Proxmox and Linux hosts using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Fibre Channel (Emulex). It introduces support for NVMeOF targets in SANsymphony, allowing improved storage performance and scalability. FR-618
    • Immutable Snapshot: This feature helps you protect critical data from accidental or unauthorized changes by introducing immutability into the storage system. Once sealed, an immutable snapshot becomes read-only and cannot be modified, deleted, or reconfigured until the retention period expires, ensuring data protection, retention, and integrity. FR-409
    • Disk Indicator LED: This feature enables you to identify and locate physical disks in the storage enclosure by turning their identification LED’s on or off from the DataCore Management Console or PowerShell. It helps you visually confirm the correct disk before performing maintenance or troubleshooting, reducing the risk of errors. FR-653
    • Global Default Thresholds: This feature helps you streamline system health monitoring by allowing central customization of default threshold values. These thresholds are automatically applied to supported resources such as Virtual Disks, Physical Disks, Disk Pools, and Immutable Snapshots, saving time and ensuring consistency. FR-445
    • Removing Mirrored Physical Disk Sets from Disk Pools: This feature helps you simplify the safe removal of mirrored disk pairs by enabling removal of both the parent and mirror physical disks together in a single operation, while preserving data redundancy throughout the process. FR-529
    • Capacity Optimization (CO) Memory Reservation: This feature allows you to configure the percentage of DataCore SANsymphony memory allocated between the SANsymphony cache and Capacity Optimization (CO) memory when CO is enabled. You can adjust the setting through the DMC, PowerShell, or REST API, giving you more control over memory distribution and helping balance cache efficiency with Capacity Optimization performance. FR-526
    • Follow the Light Diagnostics: The tree view in the DataCore Management Console now highlights issues at the parent level, even if the affected item is within a collapsed branch. By following a red-light approach, the console makes it easier to quickly identify, expand, and navigate to the problematic entity, improving system health monitoring and troubleshooting efficiency. FR-484
    • 4K Native Disk Support with 512e Virtual Disks: SANsymphony can now supports 4K-native (4Kn) storage while presenting virtual disks in a 512-byte emulated (512e) format. This enables deployment of 512e virtual disks on servers with 4K-native RAID controllers (such as Broadcom MegaRAID 96xx / DELL PERC12 and later models), helping address application compatibility challenges associated with 4K-native virtual disks (for example, VMFS datastores over FC, iSCSI, or NVMeoF). Applications that require 512-byte sector disks can now use virtual disks created with 512-byte emulation from 4K-native storage pools.
    • Prometheus Integration for Unified Monitoring: This feature enables you to integrate SANsymphony with Prometheus for advanced performance monitoring and Grafana dashboard visualization. It provides a scalable, fully supported alternative to InfluxDB, facilitating unified monitoring across SANsymphony environments. FR-558
