Administrator Password

DataCore Installation Manager for Proxmox generates an Administrator password by default, with an option to create a different password. If a custom password is provided, it must adhere to Microsoft’s Windows password complexity requirements.

Firewall Settings

During the DataCore Server software installation, additional firewall ports will be opened to ensure proper operation of the DataCore software on the virtual machine.

Refer to Windows Security Settings Disclosure for more information. If using network firewalls, ensure access to the required ports is provided.

Logs

Several log files are created in the DataCore Installation Manager for Proxmox folder the first time the installation manager is run. These logs provide a history of the deployment, including:

  • Virtual machine parameters entered in the wizard
  • Errors encountered during the use of DataCore Installation Manager for Proxmox and the deployment process
  • Names of DataCore Server virtual machines and the hosts on which they were created.
  • Progress of the deployment process

Information is appended each time the DataCore Installation Manager for Proxmox is run.

A log is also created on the DataCore Server virtual machine during deployment. This log contains a history of the iSCSI network adapter configuration.
