Installing Software Using the Wizard
- Login with the local administrator (“Administrator”) account when deploying in a workgroup environment (such as a self-guided single server, a highly available pair of servers, or a virtualized SANsymphony server). Login with a domain administrator account when running the wizard to deploy a clustered NAS/SAN solution or clustered virtual machine solution.
- Save and close all files, programs, and windows. At the end of the installation, it will be necessary to restart the server to finalize the installation process.
- Copy or download the self-extracting executable to the first server to be installed and click the executable.
- Accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) to continue with the wizard installation.
- The installer will extract all required files and documentation to the selected folder and launch the installation wizard.
- Select a category and deployment scenario to begin the installation and follow the instructions. Read the instructions and information on each window carefully.
- Each window of the wizard describes the current action along with the status and any additional details. The wizard allows input for some configuration information when required. A check mark designates that the action is completed. Click Next to proceed through each stage of the wizard.
If there are errors or a step fails, the wizard will pause, and can be resumed where it left off. When the issue has been resolved, the action can be re-run. Once a step has been completed, changes cannot be made in the wizard.
- After the wizard is finished, open the DataCore Management Console, and continue with the Post-Installation steps.
