What's New in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP17 - Preview 1

  • The Optimize Stale Data Only option has been introduced within the Capacity Optimization (CO) settings. This option allows the data of a virtual disk (vDisk) to be dynamically split across both the CO and non-CO pool disks in an extension to the auto-tiering system. The hot data is available in the non-CO subsystem to preserve low latency access and the stale or cold data is moved to the CO subsystem to reduce storage consumption. For more information, see Optimizing Stale Data.
  • Snapshots may now be compressed if the pool has Capacity Optimization enabled. By default, the data for the compressed snapshots will go to the Capacity Optimized storage. For more information, see Creating Snapshots.
  • Rollbacks and Rollback Groups may now be compressed if the pool has Capacity Optimization enabled. By default, the Continuous Data Protection log data for compressed rollbacks will not reside in Capacity Optimized storage. The data will migrate to compressed storage in the process of splitting the rollback from the source virtual disk. For more information, see Creating Rollbacks and Performing Rollback Operations on Groups.
  • The latest DataCore SANsymphony version contains performance improvements and bug fixes. For additional information, see the Fixes and Enhancements sections.
