Inline Deduplication and Compression

DataCore Inline Deduplication and Compression provides several unique advantages for capacity optimization. By using one set of deduplication resources for all disk pools and corresponding virtual disks on a server, shared storage can be extended among the greatest number of sources. This provides tremendous flexibility in terms of deployment and use, while also maximizing the storage savings. Before enabling Inline Deduplication and Compression, make sure to review Using Inline Deduplication and Compression with Other DataCore SANsymphony Features and Best Practices for Capacity Optimization.

While using Inline Deduplication and Compression, it is vital to monitor the remaining Capacity Optimization space that is available per server. DataCore SANsymphony monitors the free space remaining on the capacity-optimized disk pool and will migrate storage as necessary when the remaining fee space reaches a critical level. See Tracking Capacity Optimization for more information.

DataCore Inline Deduplication and Compression is only supported on Windows Server 2016 and later.
