Global Namespace

Overview

This section will take you through the deployment of a multi-site Active/Active Global Namespace (GNS) using DataCore vFilO. For details on installing and configuring DataCore vFilO, see DataCore vFilO Help.

With DataCore vFilO Global Namespace, data is presented in Read/Write form on all participating sites for a given share. With metadata replication separated from the actual data movement, data does not need to be present on all sites all the time, enabling a broad range of solutions:

• Cache to cloud
• Multi-site collaboration, including follow-the-sun workflows
• Disaster Recovery with file-granular, prioritized recovery on any site
• Burst to cloud
• Edge to data center replication enabling centralized backup processes
• Data migration to the cloud
• Data center NAS consolidation
