Managing Labels

DataCore vFilO provides an Open Source utility, hstk, to help manage data on shares. The utility is available on GitHub: https://github.com/hammer-space/hstk. This chapter of the manual explains how to setup labels that can be used with the hstk utility.

DataCore vFilO metadata includes labels. Labels are schema driven tags with an optional hierarchical layout. Labels can be used to easily tag data in pre-configured and organized way, avoiding the scenario where words are just slightly misspelled.

Labels can be set on a directory (including share-root) and files. When labels are applied to directories, they are automatically configured to inherit further down into the directory tree.
