Management Users

DataCore vFilO users are strictly for managing DataCore vFilO and are not used for data access. By default, there is one management user created, admin. The admin user password is set during installation. If the admin password is lost, contact DataCore Technical Support to receive help in resetting the password.

A user is always tied to a role. There are four types of user roles:

• Admin: Full access to all management functionality
• Data Owner: Reduced functionality and limited to editing and setting of objectives
• Viewer: Read-only user for dashboard viewing
• SMB role: The SMB role (smbaccess) is not supported for production use. When creating a user tied to the SMB role, it allows that user to mount an SMB share without having to be joined to Active Directory. It is a regular user and does not have special Administrator access.

More advanced roles can be created on the admin CLI using the role-create command.
