Applying Tiers and Objectives to a Share

By default, directories and files inherit the system default objectives which will automatically load-balance files across all available file-based storage volumes such as NAS exports and DSX volumes.

You can change this by selecting additional objectives for the share. Note that objectives can be applied to a share, directory or a file.

To apply additional tiers or objectives to a share:

1. Select Infrastructure & Data from the navigation bar.
2. Locate the share, either in the list or by searching for it.



3. Click the pen icon in the Applied Objectives column and select the desired objectives.
4. DataCore vFilO will automatically start aligning data based on the additional objective(s) selected.
