Active Directory Integration

DataCore vFilO can integrate with Active Directory (AD) to enable authentication via AD for SMB data access.

Joining Active Directory

To join an Active Directory:

1. Select Administration and select the Active Directory tab.
2. Enter the Active Directory Domain Fully Qualified Domain Name (FDQN).

   FDQN is preferable to the IP address.

3. Enter an administrator login and administrator password.
4. (Optional) Enter an organizational unit.

   

5. Click Join.

Leaving Active Directory

After leaving a domain, SMB clients no longer have the ability to connect to the SMB shares. This operation has the potential to interrupt data access and must be executed carefully.

To leave a domain:

1. Select Administration from the left navigation bar.
2. Select the Active Directory tab and click Leave.
