Preparing Hosts
- Hosts (servers that will utilize LUNs served from DataCore Servers) should be connected to DataCore Servers.
- Hosts running Windows operating systems should always have the most up-to-date “Root Certificates” (used for verifying signed drivers). If problems are encountered installing the Windows Integration Kit or other software because of unknown or expired digital certificates, download and install the most recent “DigiCert Assured ID Root CA” from here: https://www.digicert.com/kb/digicert-root-certificates.htm.
- If using iSCSI, install an iSCSI initiator on hosts. After DataCore Server software installation, discover the DataCore Server targets.
- See the FAQs on the DataCore Technical Support Portal for additional important operating system configuration instructions for hosts.
- If running DataCore MPIO software from the DataCore Windows Integration Kit, read the DataCore Windows Integration Kit User Guide for important configuration instructions.
- Time synchronize all DataCore Servers and hosts. We recommend configuring the built-in Windows Internet Time Settings (NTP) to synchronize the time.
