Enabling or Disabling Data Collection

DataCoreā„¢ Software collects data related to this software to gain an understanding of use cases as guidance for future development. The data is transmitted to the Analytics Platform (telemetry). Refer to the Collection Manifest for a detailed description of the data collected and transmitted.

Data collection may be stopped or started at any time.  

 Important:

TCP Port 443 must be open in order to transmit data. In addition, add the URI for the following locations to the firewall's approved sites:

o           Enrollment Service: enrollment.telemetry.datacore.com

o           Live IoT Hub: datacore-sensor-device-hub.azure-devices.net

 

To disable or enable data collection in the console:

1            In the Server Group Details page>Settings tab, expand the Advanced Settings area.

2           Clear the Transmit Machine Data check box to disable, or select the check box to enable.  

3           Click Apply.

 

 Alternatively, data collection may also be ceased by stopping the relevant Windows services named DataCore Intelligence Service and DataCore Update Service  and setting the startup type to disabled.  To start data collection, start the relevant services and set the startup type to automatic.
