Installing the DataCore Support Bundle Relay

Overview

This page describes how to install the DataCore Support Bundle Relay, including how to obtain the installation package, the system and network requirements, and the steps required to complete a new installation. The Support Bundle Relay enables DataCore Servers to transfer support bundles to the DataCore support infrastructure through a centralized relay server.

Download Package

Included in the self-extracting, executable download package (DataCoreSupportBundleRelay.zip) is the DataCoreSupportBundleRelay.exe executable file (the software installation package).

System Requirements

  • A server running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or greater.
  • The server must have access to the Internet.
    • By default, the DataCore Support Bundle Relay accepts inbound connections from DataCore Servers on port 3795. You can reconfigure this port as necessary, see Configuring a Different Port Number. Ensure that all DataCore Servers in the server group are able to connect to the DataCore Support Bundle Relay on the either the default port or the manually configured port.
    • The DataCore Support Bundle Relay uploads files to the DataCore bundle server at https://supportbundles.datacore.com/ on port 3793. Ensure that the DataCore Support Bundle Relay server is able to connect to this address. (ensure any firewall rules on the external firewall allow the connection).
  • The server must have access to the DataCore Server group network.
  • Each DataCore Server in the server group must have sufficient free disk space for temporary storage of support bundles.

New Installations

  1. Extract DataCoreSupportBundleRelay.exe and double-click to start the installation wizard.
  2. On the Welcome page, click Next.
  3. On the License Agreement page, accept the license terms and click Next.
  4. On the Select Destination Location, accept the default folder or click Browse to select a different one.
  5. On the Ready to Install page, click Install.
  6. On the Wizard Complete page, click Finish to complete the installation.
