In this topic:
Continuous Data Protection status
The status is displayed in:
o The details page of the CDP-enabled virtual disk in the Info tab.
o The Virtual Disks List in the Virtual Disk Summary area.
Possible status:
Status |
Description |
Broken |
Indicates that Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is permanently broken on the virtual disk and the problem cannot be resolved. This may be due to a configuration problem. See the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
Being Reverted |
The CDP-enabled virtual disk is being reverted to the rollback image. |
Disabled |
This momentary status indicates the completion of disabling CDP on the virtual disk. |
Disabling... |
CDP is being disabled on the virtual disk. |
Enabled |
CDP is enabled on the virtual disk and is in normal working condition. Data changes are being retained in the history log. |
Failed |
Indicates that there is a problem with CDP on the virtual disk. It may be possible for this problem to be resolved. See the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
Unknown |
The status is unknown. See the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
In the event that the history log cannot be written to, history log status will be displayed in the details page of the CDP-enabled virtual disk. Refer to the Info tab in the Storage Source field.
Possible status:
Status |
Description |
History log not present |
Indicates that the history log cannot be found. This could be caused by a pool or physical disk issue. Check for additional information on the Info tab. Also see the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
Reverting using history log |
The CDP-enabled virtual disk is being reverted to the rollback image. This operation uses the history log. |
History log failed |
The history log cannot be written to. This could be caused by a pool or physical disk issue. Check for additional information on the Info tab. Also see the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
History log being deactivated |
CDP is being disabled for the virtual disk and the history log is being destaged. This operation may take some time depending on the size of the history log before being disabled. |
History log is in an unknown state |
The status is unknown. This could be caused by a pool or physical disk issue. Check for additional information on the Info tab. Also see the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
The rollback status is displayed in:
o The details page of the CDP-enabled virtual disk in the Rollbacks tab.
Possible status:
Status |
Description |
Active |
The rollback is in normal working condition. |
Expired |
When the restore point of a rollback has been destaged (because the history log reaches the maximum size or the retention time for the history log expires), the rollback will reach expired status and is no longer valid. An expired rollback should be manually deleted. This status only applies to a rollback that expires, not a persistent rollback. |
Failed |
Indicates that there is a problem with the rollback operation. It may be possible for this problem to be resolved. See the Event Log or System Health for additional information. |
Reverting |
The rollback is currently being used to restore the rollback image to the protected virtual disk. |
Splitting |
The rollback is currently being transformed to a fully usable virtual disk. When splitting completes the rollback will exist and operate independently of the protected virtual disk. |
Unknown |
The rollback operation state is unknown. |
