What's New in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP22

  • The following new features are added to the DataCore Management Console (DMC) in 10.0 PSP22:
    • Immutability for Virtual Disks and Rollbacks: You can now apply immutability protection to virtual disks and rollbacks, extending protection beyond snapshots. The feature also introduces approval-based workflows for immutability revocation and retention extensions, helping safeguard critical data against accidental or unauthorized changes.
    • Pool Member Expansion: You can now expand existing pool members (physical disks or mirrored disk pairs) using newly available capacity from resized underlying physical disks. It eliminates the need to add new pool members for additional capacity expansion while preserving existing pool configurations and data placement.
    • Server Group Level Write through Mode: This feature allows you to enable write-through mode at the server group level. When enabled, all servers, virtual disks, rollbacks, and snapshots within the server group operate in write-through mode regardless of their individual write-through settings. In this mode, write operations are written directly to back-end storage before acknowledgment is returned to the host.
    • NVMeoF Support for VMware ESXi Hosts: Extends NVMe over Fabrics (NVMeOF) support to VMware ESXi hosts, enabling virtual disks to be presented as NVMe namespaces using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Fibre Channel (FC) for improved storage performance and scalability.
  • Windows Integration Kit 4.1.7 (WIK) Deployment with SANsymphony: The Windows Integration Kit (WIK) is now integrated into the DataCore SANsymphony installation and upgrade workflow and is automatically installed during new SANsymphony installations and upgrades. Upon successful installation, WIK is displayed as a separate product in Windows Programs and Features.
