Issues Resolved in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP18 - Preview 1

Asynchronous Replication

A replication destination server stopped accepting data from the source server causing the replication buffer to fill up.

Capacity Optimization

  • Snapshots or rollback virtual disks could not be created when Capacity Optimization or Inline Deduplication and Compression (ILDC) was disabled.
  • Upgrading SANsymphony to 10.0 PSP16 or a later version displayed a warning message related to the Capacity Optimization in the event logs even when Capacity Optimization was disabled.

Clustered Virtual Disks and MPIO

MPIO access to virtual disks became unavailable after a SANsymphony server had been rebooted if the virtual disk was used in a Microsoft Cluster.

DataCore Executive Service Issue

The DataCore Executive Service (DCSX.exe) terminated unexpectedly.

DataCore Server and Server Group

Connections to the Server Group using either the DataCore Management Console or PowerShell commands failed with timeouts or a DataCore Server was unexpectedly reported as "unavailable".

Disk Performance Counters

Performance counters for physical disks only showed a “zero” value immediately after they were added to, or whenever any disk was removed from, a disk pool.

Inaccurate Performance Metrics Displayed in the Windows Performance Monitor

The performance metrics exported to the Windows Performance Monitor were not reflecting the accurate metrics displayed in the DataCore Management Console.

Incorrect Encryption Icons on Disk Pools and Virtual Disks

  • The encryption-enabled icon remained on a disk pool even after the encrypted virtual disks had been deleted.
  • The encryption-enabled icon remained on a virtual disk even after encryption had been disabled.

Incorrect Savings in Capacity Optimization

Capacity Optimization (CO) reported an incorrect savings value in the DataCore Management Console.

Inline Deduplication and Compression Driver

A new installation of SANsymphony PSP16 could trigger an unexpected BSOD.

I/O Requests

I/O stalls after a previous iSCSI disconnection.

iSCSI Qualified Names

iSCSI port IQNs contained uppercase characters when they were created using PowerShell, preventing virtual disks from being discovered by hosts.

Mirror Recovery

After a restart of the DataCore Server, Virtual Disks would be stuck in a ‘log recovery pending’ state.

Preferred Snapshot Pool Setting

Deselecting the Preferred Snapshot pool setting at the Virtual Disk level failed.

REST API

The 'Create Rollback Group' Rest API call sometimes failed.

SANsymphony Server Crash

The SANsymphony server crashed in low-memory situations.

Unavailable Mirror Partner for a Restarted SANsymphony Server

On completion of a virtual disk mirror recovery by restarting a DataCore Server, SANsymphony incorrectly set the virtual disk mirror partner as out-of-sync, blocking access to the host.

Virtual Disk Recovery

The virtual disk recovery process does not start after SANsymphony has been reinstalled using a previously backed up configuration file.

ZFS Driver

The ZFS driver and DataCore Server crashed when copying data using the Inline Deduplication and Compression feature.
