Enhancements in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP18 - Preview 1
DataCore Management Console
The DataCore Management Console has been enhanced to display properties such as vCenter integration, Max IO Size, Ntp server status and address, Delayed ACK, Multipath Policy, Storage Array Policy, and Query tags automatically. These properties have been recommended in DataCore Best Practices guide and will help to diagnose potential issues.
OpenZFS Driver
OpenZFS driver has been enhanced to allow parallel syncing of more than one Zvol to improve write performance scalability.
Syslog Settings
The Test Syslog button has been added to the “Syslog Settings”, which allows to test if all the servers in a server group are able to communicate with the Syslog server. Two versions of RFC Format have also been introduced in the “Syslog Settings”. For more information, see Syslog server.
UNMAP Registry Flag
The SCSI UNMAP functionality has been further improved to add the “UNMAPflags” registry key during the SANsymphony installation and upgrade if the registry key does not exist already.
A default value of 0x14020101 to the UNMAPFlags is created in “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageTransports\FibreChannel\Parameters” during the upgrade and installation.
No changes will be made to the existing setting if the UNMAPFlags registry key exists.
Unserving Virtual Disks
Improved the behavior when unserving virtual disks from the vCenter. Previously, this resulted in long rescans being issued by the vCenter, while it kept trying to re-discover the unserved datastore. Now, the rescan request is issued if the datastore is present on the virtual disk. This request is only sent to the vCenter host rather than all the hosts that were accessing the virtual disk.
