Reinitializing Ports
A full reinitialization can be performed on a Fibre Channel or iSCSI target port on a server. This operation includes reloading firmware, reinitializing hardware (FC only), resetting the link, and logging in the ports.
This operation may take a few minutes. During the operation the link will go down temporarily and traffic on the port will be suspended. Hosts using a port which is being reinitialized may display events related to IO retries or path failures while the reinitialization is being completed. Where multiple ports are required to be reinitialized, reinitialize only one port at a time, then check if the hosts have rediscovered the paths before moving onto the next port.
- In DataCore Servers panel, expand Server Ports for the appropriate server.
- Right-click the port and select Reinitialize.
- Click Yes on the confirmation message to continue with the operation.
