Enhancements in DataCore SANsymphony 10.0 PSP16
DataCore Management Console Troubleshooting
Added additional logging for advanced troubleshooting of controller related deadlock conditions requiring livestops for recovery.
Improved Performance of the Capacity Optimization
- DataCore Capacity Optimization supports Level-2 ARC (L2ARC) an on-disk cache that sits between the ARC and storage pool. L2ARC holds the non-dirty ZFS data and is intended to improve the performance of random read workloads.
-
DataCore Capacity Optimization supports Mirrored Special Device which can be used to store metadata blocks to increase the overall performance of the Capacity Optimization. To configure, refer to Enabling Capacity Optimization.
-
Updated the underlying ZFSin driver to the OpenZFS driver (latest and greater version) for better performance and additional features support.
Improved User Experience for Capacity Optimization
Capacity Optimization details are now available directly from the DataCore Server panel.
Improved User Experience for the Encrypted Disk Pools
After all the encrypted virtual disks are removed/changed to an unencrypted state, there is a delay of 30 seconds before the disk pool state changes from encrypted to unencrypted. On disabling the encryption, the encryption key is removed from the pool and deleted from the system. Foreign pool import does not require an encryption key once the diskpool is unencrypted.
QLogic Service Update Improvements
The DataCore Fibre Channel (FC) driver previously installed separately using the standalone Service Update in SANsymphony 10.0 PSP13 and 10.0 PSP15 is now installed by default. For more information, see QLogic Service Update.
RAID 5 Support for Disk Fault Tolerance in Capacity Optimization
DataCore Capacity Optimization supports RAID 5 configurations for a physical disk fault tolerance. For more information, see Enabling Capacity Optimization.
Selection of the Default Snapshot Pool
It is now possible to choose the default snapshot disk pool at the DataCore server level if not already set. This ensures that the pool selection during a snapshot creation is deterministic. For more information, see Setting the Default Snapshot Pool.
