  • Windows Server 2016 Workgroup Clusters: The DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V does not support workgroup clusters (where you create a cluster without putting the machines in a domain). As an alternative, choose the "I do not have a cluster" option and enter the cluster nodes individually.
  • Port Name Character Limit: If the user enters a port name longer than 63 characters, the deployment will fail.
  • Physical Machine Reboots: Physical machines that takes longer than 10 minutes to reboot will end up in a reboot loop after the first DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V reboot.
  • Virtual Machine Name Character Limit: If the name of the virtual machine is longer than 15 characters when the DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V adds "HVSAN-" to the name, the DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V will use a random string after the "HVSAN-" so as to not exceed 15 characters.
  • Multiple Physical Switches: If the Hyper-V hosts are connected to more than one physical Ethernet switch, you will need to assign the vSwitches to the correct physical adapters in the Networking section of the deployment plan.
  • Editing Host Network Settings: If you edit the network settings of the host in Windows after the DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V has created a deployment plan, you must close and reopen the DataCore Installation Manager for Hyper-V for it to recognize the changes.
